Clegg’s private passions get an airing - but don’t worry, there’s only seven of them!

Seeing the headline‘Nick Clegg’s Private Passions’ on Jonathan Calder’s blog is enough to give any sane LibDem the collywobbles. Whatever next? Thankfully this is a reference to the leader’s foray into what has been described as ‘the upmarket version of Desert Island Discs’.

Nick’s seven choices were:

  •
    • M Berkeley The Wakeful Poet (Music from Chaucer)
    • Schubert Impromptu E flat minor
    • Mozart Laudate Dominum (from the Vesperae solennes de Confessore, K339)
    • Chopin Piano Concerto no 2 in F minor (2nd movement, Larghetto)
    • Schubert Erlkönig
    • Chopin Waltz in A Minor, op posth
    • Richard Strauss Beim Schlafengehen (No 3 from Four Last Songs)

Bizarrely, the Radio 3 web site describes Nick as ‘leader of the Liberal Democrat Party since December 2008′.

You have until next Sunday to listen to the broadcast.
