Seeing the headline‘Nick Clegg’s Private Passions’ on Jonathan Calder’s blog is enough to give any sane LibDem the collywobbles. Whatever next? Thankfully this is a reference to the leader’s foray into what has been described as ‘the upmarket version of Desert Island Discs’.
Nick’s seven choices were:
-
- M Berkeley The Wakeful Poet (Music from Chaucer)
- Schubert Impromptu E flat minor
- Mozart Laudate Dominum (from the Vesperae solennes de Confessore, K339)
- Chopin Piano Concerto no 2 in F minor (2nd movement, Larghetto)
- Schubert Erlkönig
- Chopin Waltz in A Minor, op posth
- Richard Strauss Beim Schlafengehen (No 3 from Four Last Songs)
Bizarrely, the Radio 3 web site describes Nick as ‘leader of the Liberal Democrat Party since December 2008′.
You have until next Sunday to listen to the broadcast.
